FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT MY HOMETOWN/COUNTRY
Aside from being rich in history and culture, I highly favor and value the freedom that we as Bahamians have and the unity that we express. In being the smallest, but one of the most wealthy and prosperous countries in The Caribbean has proven the strength that we hold as a people in moving our country forward.
LIFE’S AMBITIONS
My life's ambition is to live a fulfilling life, by attempting and achieving my goals. As we only have one life to live, I don't ever want to regret not doing what I really desire.
HOBBIES
My hobbies are running, singing, playing volleyball, listening to music, reading, travelling and spending time with loved ones.
MY GOALS IN LIFE
As I study tourism management, in 5 years I would like to be completing my Masters degree in International Business at Nanjing University in China. This will serve as preparation for my professional goal of becoming a tourism ambassador for The Bahamas in China.
MY BEST ASSET IS
Definitely my character. It's who I am, my beliefs, my actions. My character makes me unique in my own special way.
MY DAILY PHILOSOPHY IS
Live like there's no tomorrow. Don't live life in fear of what others think, you would be doing an injustice to yourself by existing for their sake and not living for yours.
THE MOVIE (AND/OR BOOK) THAT MOST INFLUENCED MY LIFE
The book Mandela's Way: Fifteen lessons on Life, Love&Courage has recently had the most influence over my life. In this book the author firstly made readers aware of the imperfections of Nelson Mandela. He then continued with the lessons about life, love&courage that has proven success in Mandela's historical accomplishments in combating injustice in a peaceful way. This book continuously serves as a guide for me in living without fear and with love.
WHO I WOULD LIKE TO MEET AND WHY
Michelle Obama. I admire the stability and balance she maintains in having a completely publicized life, successful career and family life. In holding intrinsic family values, she alongside her husband have propelled in both their professional and personal lives.
I AM MOTIVATED BY
Life itself. In order to live life, you must first have it. Being able, motivates me in pursuing my goals.
WHAT IS THE MOST UNUSUAL THING YOU HAVE EVER DONE?
When my cat was giving birth to her first litter, I played doctor and helped with the delivery. It was really weird and absolutely disgusting, but extremely rewarding in the end. Bringing new life into the world and watching a mother nurse her young was absolutely incredible.
BRIEFLY DESCRIBE THE MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF
In 2008 when I was crowned Miss Teen Bahamas World, the victorious feeling of having my hard work pay off despite various hurdles was remarkable. This moment was most memorable because as I was being crowned, I remembered my journey to the finale and I realized that although I was wearing the crown, this was a victory for everyone that supported and encouraged me.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE THE JUDGES TO KNOW ABOUT ME:
I manage a small family business (Best Value Garden&Pet Centre). We specialize in pet retail and grooming. I've always had a love for animals, but I never dreamt in a million years that I would be grooming dogs.
